Health Room

Laurel's Health Room is a vital part of our elementary school. It is staffed by full-time district nurse, Damaris Bishop RN, and a full-time health assistant, Zoel. Several educational assistants have also been trained to work in the Health Room when Zoel is unavailable.

An average of 30 children visit the Health Room each day. The nurse and assistants are responsible for providing first aid for school injuries, assessing illnesses occurring during the school day, administering medications, and maintaining health records for each student.

Helpful Hints:

Make sure the school has your current daytime phone number in case we need to contact you during the day.

Always have a current copy of your child's immunization record. Ask your child's doctor for this if you do not have one.
